WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

Not since the 1984 Prep Bowl did the Mules hold the state title! Well, our boys did it last night! And here is a video-compilation I made with some (crappy but legible) digital images I took.

Do keep in mind, there was so much stomping, rain, yelling and screaming with excitement, disbelief, frustration and finally exaltation that some of the pictures came out blurry. Actually, many I couldn't use - it just looked like green, white and blue blurs!

When the mules did their first haka, I had a hard time keeping my eyes dry. When they did their final haka after the game, NO ONE had a dry eye! We are proud! We are Mules!

So enjoy! Congrats to the team and celebrate responsibly!

Email List Update

Aloha fellow classmates!

The year has been eventful and I'm sure many of you thought this had all been forgotten since our last reunion. Naaaah... we jus' all get busy, eh? We not so old we forget... yet. hehe ^.^ Football is on everyone's mind right now (IMUA!), and as I was talking to an '85 alum about the football game tomorrow (you know we going win!), I figured I better keep things going here.

This message is being sent out to all existing emails on the list - checking for old emails, junk emails, and hopefully to add more of our wayward classmates to the list. I am not professing to "take charge", but need to keep things updated for when the committee needs it.

PLEASE send an email to leilehua1986reunion@gmail.com with the following information so that records can be updated. If you no like, no need... but doing this will help with future reunions. This is strictly voluntary!

Name:
Address:
City:
State:
Zip:
Phone:
(no need if you no like!)
Email: (if you like use a different one so can update the email list)

Would you like to help with future reunions? yes or no or not sure?

PLEASE tell other classmates you know - even if you think they are on the list! There are only 47 people on the email list right now... I KNOW we had more than that who graduated!!!

The 2006 (20th) reunion was fun, but small and the 30th reunion is not too far off. The general feeling during the 20th was to have something much bigger and memorable for the 30th, and if we want to do something for the 25th we need to plan now. Please kokua and respond, participate, and give feedback! This will help make future reunions fun and memorable or all!

As I get information, it will be posted here. Everyone is free to respond - so bookmark this page and come back often!

A hui hou!

Future Reunion Plans (Tentative)

During the beach-party of the 20th Reunion, there was much discussion about future reunions. John & Joann did an awesome job, but expressed the desire for more communication and participation from other class members.

As a reult, notes were taken. Here they are:

Communications: Lessie (Boyette) Mitch
  • website
  • domain name
  • forum

2011 - 25th Reunion - Las Vegas

Most classmates will be in their 40s & children will be grown or old enuf to leave alone for a week or so. Plan is for a one week spree in Sin City. (nah nah!)

Several classmates live in Vegas, info gathering to commence and be reported.

2016 - 30th Reunion - Boat Cruise

Alaskan Cruise is most favored. Mike Coleman to do research.

20th Reunion - July 2006

On July 22, John & Joann Areola helped organize the 20th reunion at Rumors, located in the Ala Moana Hotel. A favorite night-spot for many, it was a great way to get together, catch up, and have some good fun!

Here are pictures Lessie (Boyette) Mitch took of the night!

The next day, some of us gathered at Haleiwa Ali'i Beach Park for some sun and awesome food. Zina brought some choice kaukau while the yearbooks were brought out. Plans were discussed for future reunions, and this blog is part of the results. Check back for future reunion info!

Past Reunions

If anyone has any pictures or information from past reunions, please send to leilehua1986reunion@gmail.com. We'd like to archive them for future reunions.
  • 5th Year - 1991
  • 10th Year - 1996
  • 15th Year - 2001 - I think we skipped having one this year
  • 20th Year - Lessie attended and has some photos. We want more!

Mahalo!

First post.

Yay! Something a little less personal than that MySpace page and more condusive to my computer's RAM than Frappr. Besides, its cleaner here. ^.^

Welcome to the blog. As stated above, this is meant to gather information and share ideas for reunions of our graduating class from Leilehua High School. I'm sure others who graduated (or didn't) from other classes will cruise here, and we don't mind--but please keep comments and posts limited to the topic at hand. Of note, comment moderation is on for unregistered people. If you want to register, then by all means! But is not necessary.

With that said, on to reunion stuffs.
